"Percy!" A panicked voice calls, sounding like it's not the first time they said his name. "Are you okay?"
Percy stills, not sure what to say. His mouth opens and then closes again and his gaze flies to a scar running down his arm. "Time heals all wounds." He shrugs, a casual gesture, though the creases around his eyes and the tightness to his lips is anything but casual.
Natasha - for that's who's been calling his name - studies him for a moment, noting the way he avoided the question. "No, Percy. Time fiddles with your memories and dulls the pain of the wound, but it remains there all the same."
Percy's hand drops down to his side, his expression carefully blank. "And what of emotional pain? Does it remain?"
"It festers." Natasha lets out a slow breath, trying to keep her face in a neutral position, though her eyes betray her concern and the fact that she speaks from experience. "And the more you try to contain it, to hide it, the more it grows. Then one day it just... implodes. Like a storm. And... all the water just... drags you under. Until someone pulls you out."
Percy laughs drily. "See that's the problem, Natasha. Everyone that's tried to pull me out is dead. And gods know I'm not strong enough to pull myself out."

It's been a while since the Giant War. Annabeth sealed the doors with her life, and promised Percy that she would wait for him in Elysium. Percy went into a rage, he destroyed nearly everything in his wake, and wielded the Master Bolt. The war was won, and Percy Jackson was again, offered a wish, he was too distraught to think straight, so his wish was put on hold. Sally and Paul tried to offer consolation, but he turned than away, and left them for good. He went missing after that, neither Poseidon, Hades, or Apollo knew where he was. Percy had given himself to the Central Intelligence Agency to maybe do something good for a change. He was too good at his work, and quickly flew up the ranks. Percy Jackson was dead inside, without Annabeth, he was only a shell of his past self. He could hear her voice sometimes, laughing, yelling, crying. He soon became one to follow orders. As the years went by, he gradually eased back into the world, and slowly returned to a somewhat normal state. Then he confirmed his existence to Thalia and Nico, who quickly told the Gods, but only that he was alive and well. All around, he could hear the others shouting and running to help. All too late, Percy and Annabeth were gone. Suddenly, Nico heard another sound. A strange crackling was increasingly more and more prominent, until it drowned the voices of the remaining five. Before he realized what was happening, the ground beneath his torso was crumbling away, larger and larger pieces were disappearing in the hungry darkness below. Nico did not have time to react. The next thing he knew, he was falling too. OR Three demigods fall into Tartarus after finding the statue of Athena Parthenos. For better or worse, it is not the first time for Nico. Nobody notices a thing until Nico gets wind of his former crush drifting farther and farther away. Percy suddenly has new feelings for someone new, and he gets rejected by someone, but not who he thinks. He gets a quest and has to pick one other person from camp to go with him to rescue a friend. Percy gets cursed along the way and has to make it back to Camp to save a life. This story is about Percy self harming, and Nico helping him, there are mentions of dizziness, the feeling of starving, graphic self harm/injuries, blood, graphic thoughts of a person with depression, and probably something like psychological horror. If any of that makes you uncomfortable, don't read!!! I don't think I'm going to get any backlash for anything but if you comment, I'm probably not going to answer you! To the people who leave nice comments, I do read all of them and it is appreciated! this is my first published work, I just wanted to add something to this cool community and maybe live a little vicariously through the characters. Nothing From the Gods
Percy hasn't been the same since the Giant War. He has been changed, and it's not for the better. When he stumbles into the Avengers' arms, they have trouble getting along and sharing their pain. However, they know Percy is not well and will do anything to help him. This story deals with heavy topics and Percy does not just get over them within the first few chapters and skips happily into the sunset with the Avengers. This deals with pain and hardships. This can be very cliche at first. But please read at least ten chapters before deciding. It gets better as it goes, just like any book. It was also written before Spider-Man: Homecoming, The Magnus Chase series, and Trials of Apollo. Completed!Complete
