Caty Johnson is sixteen, she will soon undergo her Aplitude test. But when her results turn out to be inconclusive, she needs to figure out how to survive in a broken society that only wants people like her dead. She's a threat and tries to figure out a way to survive this harsh reality. 

She doesn't realize what she gets herself into when she chooses Dauntless and when she stumbled upon people who will become her friends.
