A ghastly murder kicks off a violent spree of mayhem and sadism, and it's going to take both science and deduction to stop it.

Blastborn is a quiet, old-fashioned city by any measure, so when an invisible force causes normally peaceful folks to kill one another, the police are hard put to stop it. When her cousin is murdered, Arabeth's inquiry reveals an ugly truth about the origin of Blastborn and its progenitors.

Still, it had to stop. Calling in family favours and using her status to persuade gatekeepers isn't something she is comfortable with, but no one else sees what she sees.

Plans for catching an unseen assailant are hard to explain and harder for others to accept. Her best friend since childhood, Samuel Hicks, is a Police Detective who has learned to trust her hunches.
