"Missy! Guess what!" Kayli screamed at me when I got out of my old pickup. "Hmm?" "We're going to meet 5 seconds of summer!" "Who?" "My favorite band." Jana walked out of the house. "It was her wish!" I put on a happy face. "That's awesome Jana." Life was hard this past year. Jana had bone cancer and the doctors would eventually have to remove her right leg. Momma had died a couple months ago and the kiddos daddy left as soon as she did. My own daddy lost his life doing what he loved. Firefighting. I'd been the adult of my house for about seven months raising my three younger half siblings, Kameron who just turned sixteen and the twins Jana and Kayli who will be fifteen soon. "I hope you don't mind the only time they could come was next month.." Jana played with her fingers. "No that's no big deal." "Thanks Missy!" The girls ran off, Jana's wig coming off without her noticing. I sighed picking it up.
