I did a research project to explore whether The Singularity could happen sooner than expected. Like maybe RIGHT NOW? 
Technically speaking that turns out to be very difficult, but not impossible, if we assume a series of precise breakthroughs. 
The storyline depicts the last few weeks before this transition, an event more awesome than anything we can imagine.
It's written as a collection of incidents and developments set in the VERY near future. Each brief chapter could be read independently. No equations are used in this version of the story.
The main character is not really part of the process, but gets to witness things up close. Unfortunately, there was no way I could make him survive the events.All Rights Reserved

Only he can ensure that, for those who choose to remain in the physical universe post Singularity, evolution will win out against the increasingly stronger pull towards barbarism. The advent of cybernetic technology has not been kind to 2400s America. While other countries have thrived, America has plummeted. The thin veneer of order and equality has been disposed of; the current rule of the land is survival of the richest. Everything is commercialized, be it gender identity, legal repercussions, or what cyber implants you have under your skin. Being able to survive in America as one of the countless many laborers is an art form. And Reikas would dub himself an auteur. Reikas is a young man with dreams and an ego large enough to fill in the gaps his inexperience leaves. He seeks to stake his claim in the one place The Man can not censor; public property graffiti. The climb to the top isn't the safest, however. As he ventures into the world, he must take a look at his friends and himself and ask: What would you sacrifice to achieve your goals? this one idea i had for a while by -prettymelancholic-

my friends thought this concept was cool, and wanted me to write it, so i'm writing it in my own free time. currently, only the random scenes i spat out in my notes app are published. so, there's no "real plot", for now. just little interactions and scenes and the main intro. the plot, if i structure it properly, will be like this: a bunch of young adults who live under a dictatorship are tasked by "manifestations" of different values to defeat the infestation that keeps this dictatorship thriving. these young adults work to thwart these infestations. justice, conscience, resistance, awareness and truth. these manifestations have selected "outstanding, virtuous, dependable" individuals who ultimately share one true goal - living their life to the fullest. that is, of course, the only thing that we all really want to do, isn't it?

This is the story I'm writing for NaNoWriMo 2015. The goal: 50,000 word RAW draft written entirely in the month of November. Unlike most of my stories, which I prefer to edit before posting, I'm actually going to post updates to this at the end of each day in chapter-sized chunks. The idea behind this story is that a terrorist attack in the near future causes the US to go hyper-isolationist, to the point that it abandons Hawaii and Alaska to fend for themselves. They do, forming the United Pacific States (maybe with a few other island countries). Hawaii then goes on to turn itself into the new world police with stealthy, genetically modified cyber-soldiers. I'm marking this story as mature because there will be action scenes, and probably some interesting perspectives on nudity and relationships. I'm not planning on anything explicit, but this won't be a kids book. Validated winner at 50,040 words!

Violence, Fraud. All gone. And with Treachery soon to follow. The machines are decimating everything in its path and Hell itself is on the verge of being wiped out. Or so it seems. Hell was aware of its layers being destroyed, but it didn't care for it had much bigger, grander plans for the future. Letting the machines kill the husks and the demons, Hell was gathering mass and energy from the deceased denizens residing in itself to prepare an attack so great and powerful, that Heaven itself would descend into chaos. Then Hell would take over. The cycle of agony shall be born anew and this time, No angel or machine would interfere with it. Hell would now have the entire universe as its domain. It relished the fact that it would watch the sufferings of the so-called 'divine', fulfilling its twisted and sadistic desires using them. However, there was a minor problem in Hell's plan that could cripple itself if left unchecked. A supreme machine known as V1 had survived the decade-long war in Treachery, and the archangel Gabriel still stood, albeit being a husk, with his holy light 'gone'. These two could grow to be massive threats. Hell already knew their capability far exceeded those that were deemed Supreme demons. To guarantee success, Hell would have to intervene and relocate them to a place far, far away. And it did exactly that, Sabotaging Gabriel and sending V1 and the archangel into an unknown place far beyond its layers. Deep, deep into space, into the Exoplanets of the Copper system. Now the duo must prepare themselves for a battle, a climax that will determine their, and their world's survival, lest the inferno will spread evermore, its flames beginning anew. -Dedicated to Thonker the'Throngler'Chonker and 'Assgobler'. -WORR, WORW retelling and expansion
