Nyctea occasionally has dreams about the life of a strange creature that walks on two legs. Why is she having these when she's been an owl all her life, at least she thinks so. Could she have lived this life before? No, she possibly couldn't, had she? Maybe as she journeys with Soren, the barn owl, Twilight, the great grey owl, Digger, the burrowing owl, and, Gylfie, an elf owl, to the Great Ga'hoole tree she might find answers to her strange dreams
