Vera shot me an amused and confused look, and I returned it, but my hands were slowly becoming colder and colder.

Twenty-year old Adaria Feur's only role in life to protect the princess. She had been doing it since she was small. But one day, her kingdom, Patrida, receives a treaty from the most powerful kingdom in the land, Kingdom Gonimigi. (I know, funny name, right?) Her kingdom had originally been banished from Gonimigi, and as it grew, tried to stay as quiet as possible, for Patrida knew if Gonimigi found out that the people they had exiled built a kingdom almost as powerful as theirs, there would be war. However, they proposed a treaty first, saying that if their princess, Vera Stone, married their prince, Derek Huybert, there would be peace. So now, Adaria is preparing to go into enemy territory and give her princess to complete strangers. But the land across the sea isn't what she figured it to be, neither are the people, the 'royal family', and a pair of amber eyes that follow her wherever she goes.
