In the world of Aethasia, 16-year-old nomad Nola Applequill flees from the emotionally tiring life of Urchin's Grotto and unwillingly gets tangled up in a criminal case with the detectives at No Man's Landing Police Department, headed by Detective Gloria Oldenpinner. As the group encounters oceans, bombs, and assassins from a mysterious society called the "Xare", Nola must learn how to trust others again in this wild ride of an adventure story.

Some of you may recognize this story from The Aetherlight Forums, commonly referred to as ALF. After over a year of being gone from the forums, I wanted to post this story here so I can still add to it. This story has been more of a passion to me than most of my other fan-fiction projects, and I still want you all to see it for the gem I tried to forge it to be. ;) This story has undergone some major editing - because, let's face it, my writing needed some help when I started this story - so I hope you will enjoy this new, updated, and *much* more consistent version of NA:CU.

It's kind of a haters to lovers type vibe, so there will be more of a slow burn angsty tension rather than straight up smut :) While I was writing the 50th chapter. I found a better way to describe this version of Y/N and Emily Prentiss: A self destructive drug addict with a traumatic past meets a somewhat patient federal agent...
