Crowley wants to think that's just some useless nobody from nowhere, and keep living his life with his best friend. But any hope of that is lost as soon as he discovers memories he had long forgotten about. *** Crowley hasn't known a life without Skylies in it. Skylies control every little thing a human, or Lander, like him does. Even if he's insignificant and homeless, he can't do anything without a Skylie or two watching his every move. He lives with his best friend, Bones, in an abandoned mall with a large homeless community, the only place Skylies can't touch. After everything he's lived through, he has the best life a true Lander can hope for, and he's happy with that. Though, Crowley's life takes an abrupt and dramatic turn when he's kidnapped by two Darklins, a species that lives underground, and learns that he was once friends with a Skylie. Now forced to reconcile with memories he doesn't want to remember, he's the only person in the whole world who can give Landers a chance to fight back against the Skylies' grip on them. Thing is, he hates the thought of ever being "friends" with a Skylie, so how could he have ever thought to be chummy with one in the first place?
