When your childhood best friend, Natalie, goes missing, you decide to try and help find her. In the process, you discover more about her than what you were prepared for.

You stare at the sight in front of you, or more like what wasn't in front of you. What once stood Natalie's house, now was caution tape, ash, and whatever didn't burn in the fire.
The police told you the fire was started by lightning from the storm. But you really doubted that statement, especially since Natalie's body was never found.
Her parents were.
Her brothers body was found.
A thumb was found lodged in his burnt throat.
Lighting didn't start this.

Well, he's instantly proven wrong when he gets chased down by police and finds himself in the middle of the woods with somebody other that a cop. Somebody who doesn't appear to be human at all. The... thing introduces himself as Ben, a supposed ghost who's "on the run" from something too, although Jeff isn't sure what. But it's definitely not law enforcement. After trying to avoid Ben and being unsuccessful, he finally caves and lets him stick around for a while, realizing that they might have a lot more in common than he originally thought. Together, they evade capture and learn much more about each other than they thought they would. But just how attached is Jeff going to get to this guy? And why does he remind him of someone he was close to? His unpredictable behaviour baffles Nat to the point of insanity and the strange pull she feels towards him is unavoidable. Nat wants out, but things aren't always that easy. He needs her for something far greater than she could ever have possibly imagined. And if she leaves, not only will it effect him, but everything that he cares about, including Nat. Brought to a world distanced from her own, Nat feels herself growing accustomed to her new life, however with the understanding that she needs to get out and fast.
