By day the town is haunted by a monster who never seems to quit or move on. Fire, destruction and hopelessness describes the town between the deserted mountains, and what they need is a hero. Corie does his job, wakes up at dusk, goes to sleep at dawn, like the other night patrollers, but he's curious about the beast. He has ideas on how to stop it, his mind is creative and big, but no one listens to his tiny figure... until it's too late. Vale is close to ruins, the beast is more ruthless than before, and Corie realizes what his parents kept from him all those years-- but can he save his home?
