After escaping an abusive relationship, Anita Clark sets out to find herself a new home with her beloved sight dog Bill. Her friend Janice still continues to annoy her with her badgering and her elderly neighbour Phillip welcomes her warmly to the neighbourhood. After making new friends and a new life, she settles into her new home, but she's unsettled by the noises that keep her up at night. At the howling in her house, the creaking of its floors and the tapping of its doors. Anita finds herself paralysed at the concept of her past catching up with her. Alex Strouse, a fellow new neighbour moves into the neighbourhood and finds himself falling for Anita. But Anita can't shake off the torment of the noises at night... nor the scratching on her legs, back and chest... she can't seem to shake off that she's not alone in her home and questions if it's really her home.

They told me the house was empty. That the boy I was supposed to care for wasn't real. Just a doll. Just a job. But then I heard things. Felt things. The whispers in the walls, the way the air shifted like someone was always watching me. I should be scared. I should leave. But there's something about him-something that keeps pulling me back. Maybe it's the loneliness in his voice. Or the way he lingers in the shadows, waiting for me to see him. All I know is... I don't think I want to run anymore.
