Err-a-tis: Adjective.  A state of emptiness.  To be devoid of any underlying or divine purpose.

Erratis is a collection of stories set in a world where those who are gifted in the arts are able to instill their wills and desires upon their creations in order to give them special purposes.  Though one might be inclined to call this ability a form of 'magic', to the citizens of Ter-Cael, an object's 'purpose' is merely an innate property of all things.  Technologically, the age in which Erratis takes place is still in its infancy.  Those educated in their arts are only scraping the surface of what they might one day be able to achieve.  

Several distinct cultures weave their stories through the tale of Erratis, splitting and intermingling with each other; exposing the unique ways that each society has embraced different forms of art, science, religion, and power.
