Carmen Sandiego might be settled in with her mother, V.I.L.E. out of sight and out of mind, but she is still broken. As far as she is aware, Gray has been killed at her hands. And that act leaves a wound that can't be healed.

In reality, though, Graham Calloway is very much alive, with quite a few regrets of his own. His decision to stay out of Carmen's life has been fueled by a sickening feeling that he isn't good enough for the lady in red.

They said they would hang on tight and not let go, but can that tie stay intact? Or will it be severed by all the things that keep them apart?

Danger once again causes their paths to meet, and Graham and Carmen find that their feelings might run deeper than just friendship. But there's not much time for soul-searching when V.I.L.E. is threatening to steal something more important than money: Their lives.
