Makoto Naegi is a teenager who has a split personality, he and his other personality are both masterminds of this despair-inducing killing game. The only reason he helps his other personality engulf the world into despair was because his other personality was the only one ever there for him when he needed it the most. This led them to have a close bond with eachother and they are willing to help eachother no matter what.
