She started having the most peculiar dreams, they started the night of her 15th birthday. Years later,Caroline turned and she was in the dark. Mazikeen, of course, hears stories of vampires. It was Mystic Falls. In time, she was bullied and tired of it. So she tried to takes pills and dies.
She wakes up in the Salvatore spare room with people crying. After her transition they tell her of the threat, Klaus, coming for Elena. Later she  wakes up with in Ric's apartment. But, she wasn't having it.
