The Orphans is a collection of twelve living symbols that have found each other over the years and united to create something they've always longed for: A loving family. They've miraculously manage to snowball together while continuing their chaotic descent among the all-consuming and inescapable avalanche destroying their world.
Trent Avery, the last of the twelve but the first we meet, the personification of his neglected and broken world. Everyone is drowning (figuratively, not literally), and though he wants to help the broken, nothing he does can fix anything, including himself. He's spent most of his life wandering aimlessly, drunk and alone. On one very strange, different, and special night, he's shown a dark and terrifying path he's never noticed before and given the opportunity to face his greatest fears. Rather than run away as he always had before, he faces them head on and is rewarded by being lead to a small, heavenly park hidden among the stained bricks and rotting mortar, completely forgotten by all but a small band of caretakers who soon welcome him into their ranks. They are the Orphans. Once Trent finally finds a place to call home, he can begin to grow into what he used to be and what he so desperately needs to become once again, before it's too late.
