Madalynn Reese never expected to see Liam Tucker again. Not after all of these years, and not after he broke all of their promises. But when she heads off to her dream college and runs into her ex-childhood best friend, she soon learns that even though not all pinky promises are made to last, not all of them are made to be broken.

I pushed my hand against his chest, but it did absolutely nothing to create distance, only causing his smugness to grow as he backed us into the wall. 

My breathing hitched as I compelled my brain to form words. "What are you doing Liam?" 

"What's it look like?" He challenged, leaning in and brushing his nose alongside my cheek. His lips grazed my ear causing my eyes to flutter closed. "Did you really come to hash the past Maddie? Or for something else?"

Maddie and Liam sitting in the tree, K-i-s-s-i-n-g... we all know how the rest of this story goes. Except when it doesn't. 
When Maddie moves, she and Liam make several promises to each other and seal it with their pinkies. A pinky promise is sacred, and Maddie and Liam would never break it.

 Or would they?  

When they run into each other in college years later, it definitely seems that way. Liam is not the same boy she remembers, and what's worse--he doesn't seem to remember her at all. 

What happens when limits are tested, guards are dropped, and the truth comes crashing down? With hearts on the line, a pinky promise proves to be the ultimate test.
