"I'll set fire to this world and it will burn to ashes before I let a single flame touch her. I'd do anything to ensure your survival." he said. I smiled as I was once again underestimated. "I don't need you to ensure my survival. I survive because the fire inside me burns brighter then any fire you or anyone else could set." I replied.

It's been one year since Hermione had lost Ron. She's growing tired of friends and family treating her as if she could break at any second. All she wants to do is be there for her daughter, Rose. As life would have it, she gains a new friend, and maybe even a second chance at love. Draco has been a single parent for a while. He wants to be the best dad that he can be to Scorpius. His life has become even more complicated when he tries to help his new friend, his former boss, Hermione Jean Granger-Weasley. ~excerpt: How could Ginny do this to her? To her! They were supposed to be best friends, sisters even. A hand wrapped around her wrist. "Go away Ginny." She bit the words out. A low chuckle rumbled behind her. "Too bad I'm not the Potter." Why did he have to follow after her! "Go away, Malfoy." The hand dropped away from her wrist. "So, it's Malfoy again." The pain in his words brought Hermione to a halt. "Why did you follow after me?" She whispered without turning around. Draco chuckled and she could imagine him running his hand through his hair. "It's quite obvious why Ginny did this." Hermione turned around to look at him, stunned that he had called Ginny by her name. He brought his eyes to meet hers and laughed. "Apparently, not that obvious." He continued when she remained quiet. "She's playing matchmaker." Ginny was doing what! Hermione was going to have to have a long chat with her friend. "I'll tell her to stop." She said tersely. "Why?" Did he really just ask her why? He should be the one to know why, Hermione had told him the reason why they would never be together. Then she remembered his words from that day, he had told her that she was worth the wait. . . . . . . . Characters belong to J.K Rowling.

"Elara," He said, gripping the girls small wrist. "Stop avoiding me." "Draco, stop, it's not safe for you to be around me." She argued, attempting to pull wrist away from him. "Didn't I make it obvious? I. Don't. Care." Draco stated. "Well I do. I'd rather you be safe and away from me, than in danger and near me. I told you Draco, I'm a target. You'll get hurt or worse killed, and I wouldn't be able to live with myself. Do this one thing for me, stay away from me. All I want is to ensure your safety." She pleaded. "I can handle myself! Why, why are you so worried about my safety!" He raged. "For not having a heart, I think you're capable of love. Just like you mum." The words replayed in her head. "Because Draco, I think you were right." She said before doing the one thing that only the headmaster can do inside the castle, she disapperated.
