A Dead Cat is a science fiction tale in the classic, fast-paced, genre-bending, social commentary tradition of Greg Bear and John Scazli with a bit of Chuck Palahniuk thrown in for good measure. Tom Moore, a PTSD suffering war vet and journalist of dubious success, works in a partnership with a stolen military AI grafted to his eyeballs. Together they live in an affluent world of billionaires, trillionaires, androids, and aliens; only he and his AI live in the poorest, most crime-ridden neighborhood. Psychological Horror and Slow-burn Dark Romance. 18+ --------------------------- It's been five years since that fateful Friday night. I remember it like it was yesterday. The night I was kidnapped. I was held against my will. Tortured. Starved. Broken apart, piece by piece. All in the name of "curing" me. He didn't just steal my freedom. He rewrote the rules of pain, of fear - and then, somehow, of love. If you'd told me I'd fall for the man who ruined my life, I would've laughed in your face. But reality doesn't always follow logic. He's given me this journal and I'm going to write my story. This is my truth. My confession. My war cry. Because what he did to me deserves to be known. --------------------------- THIS BOOK CONTAINS TRAUMATIC CONTENT! TRIGGER WARNINGS: Kidnapping, assault, systemic abuse, mentions of Domestic Violence and childhood trauma, phobias, blood and gore, body horror, and mental illnesses including severe psychosis.
