Oscar's father and mother were killed when he was little, and Wiesel was given custody over him and Morris. Morris has tried for ages to get custody over Oscar, and get him out of Wiesel's hands, so with Morris' 18th birthday coming up, maybe things are starting to look up for them? Racetrack Higgins, also known as Anthony Higgins. He was abused by his father until he ran away at the age of 7. He's been to the Refuge twice, and lives with the Manhattan Newsies, as Jack's second in command. What happens when Oscar falls for the Italian speaking Newsie? What happens when Race falls for one of his sworn enemies? What will their friends/family's reactions be? What will happen? Will they be happy and live together? Or will their relationship crumble? Winter. A time of year the newsboys of New York City wish they skip over. It got cold- real cold. Newsies all over would start showing signs of sickness within the first weeks of winter. Not as many people are out on the streets, which means not as many people are there to buy papes. Money gets scarce and it's not like any of them can afford a winter coat. Wintertime is chaotic enough as it is, but when you're a newsboy trying to juggle a forbidden relationship, the death of many friends, and the return of a psychotic family member? Yeah, things can get a little... destructive. Story length: 27,730 ------------------------------ THERE IS A BREAKDOWN OF THE MOVIE VS MUSICAL AT THE VERY END WHERE I JUST DISSECT THE MOVIE AND WHATNOT. IT DOESN'T MAKE A DIFFERENCE TO ME WHETHER OR NOT YOU READ IT, I JUST WANTED TO PUT IT OUT THERE. DISCLAIMERS: - These characters are not mine, they all belong to Disney (excluding a couple little side characters here and there) - The word 'queer' is used frequently towards the end. While I am fully aware that it is not always used as a slur, I just couldn't bring myself to have one of the boys say the 'f' word. (You know the one) - This is going to be a mix of the 1992 Newsies and the Broadway Newsies, so I apologize in advance if you get a little confused. I just can't decide which is better, but for some characters I can only see them as the 1992 version or the broadway version. - Main difference: The relationship is going to be Jack and Katherine, meaning that neither Sarah nor Denton exist. He was the leader of the Manhattan Newsies, he took Emma in with the boys in the lodging house. Emma soon became known as Tiger, the only Manhattan Girlsie. Jack took care of Tiger as if she was his own blood she was pretty much his sister and every Newsie knew this. Tiger used a special technique to sell her papers just like every other Newsie. Tiger was a flirt and known for it, it was how she sold her papes. Yes Tiger was a flirt but she swore to herself that she wouldn't get into a relationship especially with one of the Newsies but Racetrack Higgins her best friend took that as a challenge. They always flirted with each other but Racetrack wanted more, he wanted to be with her. With Tiger. His Tiger.Complete
