Dr. Tom Woodward is the Director of NASA/AMES Research Center. When Woodward meets Chris Torrance at the University of Washington, he discovers that Chris has experienced an instantaneous ‘jump’ in space-time, combining a genetic anomaly with a rare catalyst in the pollen of an unusual flower.
Meanwhile, the genetic control mechanism is also connected to an incident at the Large Hadron Collider in Geneva, when a Russian technician ‘blinks out’ of the Universe for a moment, and the rip in the fabric of space-time is reflected on the other side of the world during an experiment with the National Synchrotron. The Russian FSB, monitoring developments in Geneva, also note the incident, rumored to be the creation of a microscopic singularity.
In Los Angeles, a Japanese American scientist who is involved with the BICEP2 cosmology experiments at the South Pole has published a paper theorizing a human, genetic link to gravitational waves and the elusive ‘graviton’. Shiratsu suspects that a plasma collider might be adaptable to manipulating graviton particles, thus accessing the folds in space-time. His paper comes to Woodward through a Canadian scientist connected to the dark matter experiment (DEAP-3600) deep underground near Sudbury, Canada.
As the ‘black’ project gets underway it is also militarized, and the team realize that any local singularity may connect to the supermassive black hole at the galactic center, and thus act as a gateway to other systems. With the burgeoning list of earth-like exoplanets growing out of the Kepler mission, the team capitalize on the 2015 discovery of a new planet in Alpha-Centauri, only 4.4 light years distant. Using the ESO’s VLT observatory in Chile they confirm the presence of both continents and an atmosphere on the new planet, christened Nova Prime One. Together the team and the American military construct an FTL system underground at Brookhaven and plan a jump to Alpha Centauri.

In a joint effort, to save the world from the threat of the meteor; the United States Space Force collaborates with NASA, Space X, JAXA and other big companies, to launch the NASA DART 2.0, to redirect and destroy Mithra. Cpt. Austin Moore, along with Lt. Col. James Bragg, and 2d Lt. Julia Walker, take refuge in an experimental cryogenic chamber, at the Armed Forces HQ in Arlington County, Virginia. However, the massive impact of the meteor is so powerful, that despite redirection, explodes huge, which causes the radioactive rock, to burn everything within a one hundred-mile radius, destroying the facility, and leaving Aaron and his team to be presumed dead. Forty-two years later, now in 2076, Austin along with James and Julia emerge from the now empty and inactive cryogenic pods, which kept them alive, and not aging at all. However, the world as they know it is in turmoil. With technology and machines becoming sentient, and taking over the world, most of the planet is now a dry and barren desert wasteland, with seventy-give percent of human population now extinct. Austin and his friends see, they are now pitted against strong malicious AI and evil machines, along with mutated former human creatures that succumbed to the gamma rays in the atmosphere. Along with acceleration in climate change, and technological progress, humans are now reduced to smaller settlements to survive and battle for resources. Hi there, I'm JD, a 31-year-old Venezuelan-Spanish Economist living in Barcelona with my Russian (pro-peace) wife Anna and our two kittens; we met in Italy eight years ago, and almost since then we have been working on this project. During our careers we've worked with people from South America to Japan, from Australia to Canada, from South Africa to Norway, the characters in the novel are based on people I was lucky enough to meet along the way who left me with invaluable lessons which we feel the duty and privilege of sharing with our fellow humans, hopefully sharing what cosmologists call "Space Bias". There are seven main protagonists each one with their own chapter - which can be read in whichever order you prefer, - two of them in present tense and the rest in past, it's all part of the story. They all have mixed backgrounds such as a Japanese father and a Taiwanese mother, a survivor of the Rwanda massacre, a Colombian with Lebanese and Portuguese ancestry, a Danish whose mother is German, a Jewish lady married to a Muslim man she met in Jerusalem, an Anglo-Indian guy inspired in a way in Orwell - character name is Arthur such as Orwell's real name, - and last but definitely not least a Turkish Muslim bisexual woman for which a Lebanese friend for work is providing help; my friend is working on her Ph.D. on gender inequality in politics, especially in countries with religious civil wars that have moved from the streets to parliament. The story's Universe - 7 trillion light-years, approximately 78 times the size of our observable universe and 252 times the size of a Hubble sphere - provides more than enough civilizations to present dystopias that can serve as warnings for the future - ideally in the style of 1984, A Brave New World, or Fahrenheit 451, - as well as utopias where we find A.E.I - Artificial Emotional Intelligence - along with futuristic ways of understanding childhood, education, and life itself.

A nobody finds himself an unwilling participant in a sprawling entertainment enterprise where fantasy, science-fiction, romance, sex, and death are served up, remixed and re-served all in the name of keeping the mysterious alien Audience satisfied. 9/17/2014 _Murdersphere Mosaic_ has finished. Thank you all current and future readers for taking a look at my first Wattpad publication. Now, for a secret. _Murdersphere Mosaic_ is the rough-draft sequel to _Blue Collar Immortal_. It did not start that way, but once I got going, a lot of thing fell into place, namely that despite starting with the intention to do fanfiction, I did not commit to actually "living" in the milieus of the Marvel or even DC Universe. They became set pieces, prop-culture references and points of familiarity for the protagonist. I am turning _Murdersphere Mosaic_ into a first draft and I plan to re-develop set life on IC-CG1. I'm stripping out the Marvel and DC references, but it will definitely be recognizable as a super-science, comic book influenced environment. The idea is quite exciting. Because this turned into a sequel, I want all of you to have the whole story. So, I am going to serialize _Blue Collar Immortal_ on Wattpad, one chapter a week, starting Friday, September 19, 2014. If you do not want to wait, or you want a different format, I have dropped the price of _Blue Collar Immortal_ to $0.99 in the Kindle store. Also, because they peripherally touch on _Blue Collar Immortal_ and _Murdersphere Mosaic_, I have reduced the prices of _Theocrat_ and _Geistwolf_ to $0.99 as well. After serializing _Blue Collar Immortal_, barring a change in circumstance, the plan is to start serializing _Geistwolf_ on a chapter a week cycle and after that, _Theocrat_. Things may change. I promise to let you know if that happens. http://www.amazon.com/Hank-Cannon/e/B00APRPIOG Thank you all for reading.

Hello there, Wattpad community My name is LaResistance and this is my very first story. Since this is the first story I am making, don't expect it to be off high quality but I will try my best. This story is going to comprise of some events that took place in the anime of Azur Lane, and I am also going to make the main character well you could say a soldier from Garry's Mod since I want him to from the time of the fan-made film back in the 2000's call "War Of The Servers". You should check it out it is pretty good for a movie made when Garry's Mod was still in it's early stages. Here is the link to it, you better watch it or you are going in this story blind : https://youtu.be/ppUl_CBuyz8. God bless the people who made that movie man god bless them. Enough talking, onto the story. The year is 2021, the Mingbags are back and Garry's Mod is once again at war. This time new updates were added which made the conflict between both the Players and the Mingbags very bloody. We follow a player who was ranked up to Sargent class. Instead of admins taking over the jobs as soldier, they are still able to but other players are able to enlist into the Digital Garry's Mod Militia or the Garry's Mod military. This player is named SirStonksMan and he is a Polish player. He was about to be sent out onto a offensive against the Mingbags but discovered a lab. What he and his comrades didn't know was their was a portal there and they accidently activated it send Sgt. Stonks into another universe. How will he proceed and what is he to do?
Truths in disguise by Beloumba

Cover by @AdlerBourbon This story is about a dystopian social experiment devised by a disturbed professor. The town of Delphnea, a seemingly medieval village, is in fact an elaborate, controlled environment designed to simulate life in a bygone era. The professor has isolated the town from the modern world by erecting an invisible barrier, ensuring that none of the inhabitants can escape. His goal is to study how people behave when stripped of modern comforts and technology, reverting to primitive instincts and medieval societal structures. All of Delphnea's residents, including Carter and his father, are unaware that they are part of this grand experiment. They believe their lives are authentic and that they are living in a true medieval society. However, behind the scenes, the professor manipulates their environment-planting false information, monitoring their every move with hidden technology, and occasionally sending in outsiders like workers or agents to fix or alter parts of the experiment. The experiment is carefully crafted to test human behavior under duress, but over time, cracks begin to show. Modern elements occasionally slip through-like advanced technology, strange devices, and inconsistencies in the town's medieval setting-leading Carter and others to question their reality. As Carter and his friends uncover the truth, they realize they are pawns in a much larger game, a twisted psychological study where escape seems impossible and the professor watches every move from his hidden control room. In a world ruled by lies, the truth is deadly

After finishing a successful summoning, Alcor comes across a strange little store and decides to take a look inside. Once inside he ends up meeting a very particular woman. This day, this place, and this woman will end up becoming quite memorable to him. This is definitely a meeting he won't long forget. This is my fic for the Transcendence AU Ficathon of 2020! This fic is based off a prompt on the Transcendence AU Tumblr about Alcor meeting one of the Old Gods. In the prompt it was Earth Mother Gaia Alcor met, & that is who he meets in this fic. I wanted more TAU Gods stuff, so here we are. This is one of the 1st fics I have posted online. I have posted it on AO3 and some other place(s), which I also like. I may link those other places, or at least my AO3 here &/or on my profile some time in the future. Esp. since I want into more explaining and detail in those tags and notes over there that may be helpful while reading this fic. But it is also not needed. This fic can be read pretty much completely as a standalone thing. So it's just an option. If you prefer or just use WP, well I'm gonna be here too as well obviously. I also love reading on this site, like I do AO3, & now I'm gonna hopefully love posting here as well. I don't know if I should link stuff in the desc., so to know what I'm talking about when I talk about the ficathon (or as it is also called the tauathon) go to transcendence-au on tumblr to find out more. Plus, it's a great tumblr for Gravity Falls TAU stuff! You will know more why if you check it out. The pic that I used for the cover doesn't belong to me, all credit goes to the artist. I did edit it & add text. This fic is a pretty long one-shot. Though, I'm prob. gonna write more TAU Gods stuff, since I like that kind of stuff. As well as more Gravity Falls (& its AUs), & TAU & its sub-AUs fics since I love them. Characters belong to their respective owners except for any OCs. Who I'm fine w/ the TAU community using.
