Ang mga Catalonan o mas kilala sa tawag na Babaylan ay ang mga sinaunang manggagamot ng mga Pilipino. Ginagamot nila hindi lamang ang katawan ngunit maging ang kaluluwa ng mga tao. Sila ang mga tagapagsilbi ng pamayanan at tagapangalaga ng karunungan. 

Itinuturing na isa sa mga pinuno ng pamayanan at ang tanging mga nilalang na maaring maglabas-masok sa mundo ng mga espiritu at iba pang katayuan ng diwa ng walang anumang sagabal.
 
Sa pagdating ng mga Kastila, sila ay binansagang mangkukulam at mga aswang. Dahil dito unti unting nawala ang kanilang kapangyarihan sa lipunan. At marami ang nag-akala na nawala na rin ang kanilang kapangyarihan.

Ngunit may mga natutulog na elementong unti-unting nagigising upang maghasik ng kasamaan. 

Kasabay ng paggising ng mga masasamang elemento ay ang muling paggising ng mga natutulog na dugo ng mga bagong henerasyon ng mga tagapamagitan sa mundo ng mga espiritu at ng mga tao. Ito na ang hudyat ng muling pagbangon ng mga ........
