The fire was getting closer. I could only watch from the forest as my family home burnt to the ground. Townspeople stood nearby wielding torches. The bishop stood in the trampled remains of my garden, preaching from their god's holy book. I shivered and shrunk further into the bushes that hid me. This hadn't been an accident.
And the villagers had meant for me to be burned, as well.
