Autism Awareness: How I Overcame Domestic Abuse, Sexual Assault & Drug Addiction by JMFW01

A true story about how I overcome sexual assault, domestic violence, drug addiction and more. This story shows the harsh reality of getting into horrific situations as an adult with a hidden disability. The world is a cruel place and when someone speaks out nobody usually listens, so I wrote my experiences down in hopes that I can help anybody avoid the situations I have been involved in. Every life is precious and nobody deserves to have experienced the things I've been through so please read this short story, please think your decisions through and look out for others. I hope this book is useful. Thanks for reading.

I wasn't special, I wasn't a marine or a scientist sent here from earth to study Pandora, I was a behaviorist-some say behaviorists are scientists too; but the brain isn't made up of mathematics and hope, it's like the roots of trees. Forever speaking but unheard. I study people's brains and their behavior. I don't look at it with hope and faith. I'm nothing special, not really. When I was accepted to help with Project Pandora, I was exhilarated. This was my big break, something to get me out there. I never expected for it to spiral into my life unprofessionally-become personal, emotional. That I would have to fight in a war between man and alien, choose between my own people and a clan of beings that accepted me-welcomed me, trained and made me one of them. This wasn't supposed to become personal, but it did.

Beck is top of her class when it comes to Maths and Science and her future seems bright. However, she struggles with social anxiety and relationships. Beck is autistic and spends most of her life locked away in her own mind as she reads her collection of books to escape her abusive alcoholic father. But once her eyes meet a grey eyed boy from across the room her world won't be the same. (18+ violence, adult themes, bullying, harassment and other issues) Being Autistic myself I have put a lot of me in this book. I've exaggerated certain aspects for entertainment values but other than that this is how awkward I feel most of the time. I don't see many books by women who write about their experiences in a creative way to spread awareness in a fun and compassionate way. This is mine I guess. I hope you enjoy this short story.
