He is at least somewhat aware of us, the reader, and acknowledges us often, that's why he takes explains things with oddly, making a comment or two about how he should've known you wouldn't know that thing. Your brand new persacom, L, is one of a kind. With a self-learning AI, he observes you and slowly learns what it means to be human.
