Stardew Valley - Shane X OC

Maeve: a female name of Irish origin meaning "she who intoxicates"

If she was a drink she'd be a single-barreled bourbon on ice. Smooth with a kick. A chill and a burn all at the same time.

Calliope "Maeve" Walton needing an escape from her life, jumped at the opportunity to take on her late grandfathers farm.

The loss of both of her parents, her little sister, and her best friend, enduring an abusive relationship, and years of losing herself in more ways than one brought on some not so healthy habits. Hoping to get away from her past, bits and pieces still linger as she re-discovers who she is and comes to term with her trama, finding friends along the way. Her hard demeanor slowly crumbling below her, she tries to hold up her walls. Something that proves to be more difficult than she thought the more she gets to know Shane, the local alcoholic.

TW: Cussing, mentions of suicide, alcoholism, depression, abuse/domestic violence/mentions of rape possible, sexual harassment, possible smut later on.

I do not own the characters or setting aside from the main character Calliope, all credit goes to concernedape. Cover photo is unfortunately not mine. It belongs to @DrewRaffael on Twitter! But it is by far my favorite fanart of Shane.

"See, that's the thing. You see this as a few weeks. A first kiss, only on our second real date, a new thing to try out. Yeah, you said you love me, which I believe. I do, but that doesn't change the fact that you only see this, see us, as just a few weeks old. The reality, Sebastian? We are years old. I've loved you since we were kids throwing rocks at each other by the train station, since we were 8 and i tried to drown you in the ocean because you called Leah ugly, since we were 10 making cookies with Evelyn weekly, Seb. I've been completely yours since before i even knew what loving someone was." ~ Luna James grew up in Stardew. Her entire life was there, her friends, family, future. That was until her family endured a tragic loss 10 years ago and never returned, until now. Luna was left the family farm after her grandfather had passed, she was given a year to figure out if she wants to keep it or sell it. In this time she moves back to Stardew, reconnects with old friends whilst making new ones, She reconnects with old sparks, reconnects with her old life. In this time she falls deeply in love once again and has to maneuver through her years worth of emotions to decide what's best for her, her life and her future. ~ Disclaimer: I am writting this as though it is set in the real world to add more dimension to it! Things suck as real life bands and things outside of stardew will exist in the book. Thank you!

"I'd met my match with Sebastian. He was just as much of a loner as I was-maybe even more. We were the only two members of the anti-social social club. It met every Wednesday: under the covers of Sebastian's bed." Stella's memory of Stardew Valley isn't the greatest and she swore she'd never return. But when her father wants to sell her grandfather's farm, Stella reluctantly agrees to buy it off him, afraid that her memories of the valley will disappear altogether if she lets it slip away. As she returns to Pelican Town, the gaps in her memory start to revive as she meets new faces, and reunites with old ones. Her first friend is the extroverted, blue haired Emily, who becomes Stella's key insight into the lives of her neighbors in Stardew Valley. Her first crush is the easy-going, adorably clueless skateboarder, Sam, who she runs into on her very first full day in the valley. Sam is everything Stella is not, and maybe he's what she needs-someone to counteract her melancholic, reclusive personality. But when she meets his dark haired, moody and pessimistic friend Sebastian, who is the complete opposite of Sam, she becomes enthralled with him, wanting to crack through his tough exterior to see what lies beneath. Sebastian is everything she wants, but knows she doesn't need. She knows how he is, because she is the same way. He's like a carbon copy of herself and that only intrigues her more. She knows he's like poison, but the way he makes her feel becomes like an addiction.

As June settles back into Pelican Town for a fresh start, she expects a calm and peaceful life devoid of any haunting memories from the city. Little does she expect the secrets lurking within the Valley, along with the mysterious dark haired boy who keeps himself isolated from everything; that is, until her. ★ This story is a first person female narrative!
