Nicole, an ambitious but overlooked student at elite private school, Waterbridge Academy, is ready for her junior year to be all kinds of fun.

While her focus should be classes and homework, they take second string to Highjinks, the epic prank battle between two student armies, fought over the course of the year. Tension and enthusiasm are running high; winning means bragging rights and not having to forfeit comforts, like the best pizza in town, to the opposition for the next year.

As part of the Thunderbird army, Nicole is a recon and stealth specialist. She spends half her time spying and hovering like a fly just outside of the Hellhounds leaders' notice, so she can learn their plans. The other half is spent carrying out clandestine after-curfew pranks at her superior's often short-notice orders. To resident hottie "General" Kellen Fitzpatrick of the Thunderbird army, Nicole is little more than a subling. That is-until the war turns real.

When the students of Waterbridge Academy are forced into a battle for their lives, will Nicole be strong enough to lead the charge?

"You ungrateful bitch. I keep a roof over your head, and this is the thanks I get?" "You could have killed her," I retort, trying to muster up confidence that I don't possess. "What if she goes to the cops, Dad? That bruise on her face is enough to get you arrested and charged with assault." "What? You mean when she tripped over the mess you made in the kitchen?" His smile is so wicked that it chills me to my core. "She ain't going to the cops. Hell, she'll probably be back here tomorrow." "You're a bastard," I whisper, tears filling my eyes. "No wonder Mom left! She probably couldn't bear to spend another second with-" I'm pushed to the floor. Gawking two guys in a hot-blown make-out session in the mathematical section of the library was not what I expected my first day after Winter breaks to be like. And didn't realize that seeing them was about to change my whole high school experience... Lillian Smith, the shy, quiet, nerdy girl, gets transferred to the most prestigious high school in her town, West Hills High, on a scholarship in her junior year. She spends half of her year hiding from the rich kids at her school to prevent any trouble. But one accidental encounter at the library with the popular bad boy of her high school changes things for her. One little secret leads to another until Lillian gets stuck with the secrets of the popular group, The Clichés. The burden of the secrets becomes heavy, and Lillian doesn't know what to do with them anymore. ~•~•~•~•~•~ "What's your name?" "Lillian... Lillian Smith." "Okay, Lillian, so this is what going to happen next." He crossed his arms. "I'm going to let you go and you-" he held his finger at me, "- will tell no one about this." I bobbed my head. "And if I hear even a single word uttering from your mouth about us..." He gestured between him and Toby. "I will-" "- Kill you." I finished for him and give him a thumbs up. "Got it." "Then it's settled!" Toby announced, clasping his hands and beamed. "The answer is 'A,'" I say, keeping my voice light and kind. Carter snorts from beside me. "No, it's 'C.'" Bingo. I was hoping he'd say that. "The question clearly asks you to round to the nearest tenth. If I'm not mistaken, which I don't believe I am, answer 'C' has two decimal places." I smirk as his mouth twitches into a frown. We're still standing. "Very well, Miss. Jones," Mr. Neilson says, projecting another question. "I can't stand you," Carter mumbles in my ear. I turn my head towards him, pressing my lips against his ear. "Then sit the fuck down, Conners," I whisper. "I'm winning." ... Fairridge Prep is for the best of the best. Sadie Jones, stubborn and clever, is set on being the best. Returning from winter break feeling, more so than ever, that she has stolen her sister's dream, Sadie is determined to spend the rest of Junior year proving that she deserves everything she's worked towards. Carter Conners, notorious flirt (only when it comes to Sadie), will do anything it takes to not spend the rest of his life working at his parents' diner. Whether it's running for the track team or debating, Carter is always competing, and competing to win. Sadie and Carter have been rivals since freshman year, constantly bickering and trying to best each other. But when the rivals are thrown into a week long debate competition that, along with getting the top spot on the Principal's List, will guarantee one of them the title of Valedictorian next year, they find themselves enjoying each other's company more than they would've ever expected. And it leaves them wondering: "Do we really hate each other?"

I think that sometimes the universe likes to play sick jokes on people. Like sometimes you drop the ice cream you've been craving on the floor before you're able to get a bite or you crack the screen of your brand new cell phone. Or sometimes you get the first detention of your life on the same day your middle school bully comes back from a delinquent school and get locked in the library with him and his brothers (who you haven't talked to since the 8th grade.) Yep. The universe just loved playing sick jokes on Thea Caruso. ~~~ Thea Caruso had spent her entire childhood with her 2 best friends Kevin & Devin Preston but like every young friendship it slowly got to the point where they wouldn't even acknowledge each other in school. She didn't hold anything against them. It's just how things go. Strangers to Friends to Best Friends to Strangers. There is one Preston that she does have ill feelings for. Marc Preston. The troublesome younger triplet that had always made Thea's life a living hell and he's back and ready to start his reign of terror. There's only one problem... Thea Caruso isn't the same girl he picked on in 8th grade. She isn't scared to bite back now. { Book 4 of The Preston Series }
