Edward Elric has been a State Alchemist for about a year now. It's a pretty sweet deal, until he has to do stuff like "obey superiors," or "follow orders." Still, he's on the fast lane to the Philosopher's Stone, he can feel it.
Then he meets Antimony, a teenage girl who tries to kill him... then saves his life. Now, out of a desire to learn, she won't stop following him and Al. She seems to know everything about him, but the brothers know nothing about her.
But what does she want to learn? Who, exactly, is she? Why does she act so strangely around them? And one more thing...
Can Ed handle a temper as fiery as his own?

F/N Hughes is the younger sister to Maes Hughes and became a state alchemist at the age of 15. At the time, she thought she was the youngest State Alchemist and had previously attempted human transmutation when she was 12, allowing her to use alchemy with no circle but at the sacrifice of both of her legs which are now automail. What will happen when she meets Edward Elric who took the test when he was 12 and she finds out he and his brother Alphonse also attempted human transmutation and are trying to get their bodies back. While F/N does not seek the return of her legs, actually preferring the automail replacements, she can't help but be curious about both of the brothers, but especially Edward, even if at first they clash more than getting along. (Please read first two chapters for info, thank you!) For a long time, elemental magic has been widely known, used, and practiced. Elemental magic is based upon the four core elements - Earth, Air, Fire and Water. Elemental magic is most prominent in England, where many mages gather to learn and research elemental magic. However, during the early 1500's, the Fire Outbreaks happened. Several various fire mages suddenly swept through and destroyed the smaller cities of England, killing many in their way and leaving no survivors. Due to this the Council of Magic, the governing figure of elemental magic, issued an act - The Anti-Fire Act. This effectively banned any and all use of fire magic within all of England. The Council of Magic was later changed to the Triumvirate in the 1540's, and from then on are set on killing off every last fire mage. Allen Fleming, a 15 year old air mage, wishes to attend the Magical Knights Academy. The academy is where many young, prominent mages attend to improve their use of magic, and eventually become a magical knight. Magical knights are the respected mages who protect the cities of England and keep its citizens safe. But in order to even attend the academy, Allen must first pass the entrance exam. However, Allen's magic is extremely weak and he relies mostly on his physical fighting ability. Air is considered the strongest element within England, and with his lack of air magic prowess, many mages hate and ignore him. But what many do not know, is that Allen possesses a second element - the fire element! Without knowing who his real parents are, and having to keep his fire magic a secret, Allen has to work hard if he ever wishes to become a magical knight and achieve his goals. However, with tensions rising within the Triumvirate, fire mages on the run, and other events happening behind the scenes, Allen must go from being the weakest to the strongest if he even hopes to stop what may be coming in the near future.Complete
