The Year 1816, The Year Without Summer, and Mary has decided to die. She's lost her son, and the society she once thrived in has shunned her for her affair with a previously married man. She thought a summer away with her sister and other great minds would help, but they hadn't, and so Mary takes a trek through the Dark Forest, ready to end her life for good.
However, Mary stumbles across a magical place, and creatures only read of in fairy tales, and a man willing to explain it all, Victor Frankenstein. Will he, the genius living in the castle, be able to help her find her way, if she even wants to go back at all. Or will Mary Shelley die like she wanted?

For the fae, magic is everything: status, power, wealth, honor. For Vera Reite, a fae born with no magic, it is a shameful reminder that she will never amount to anything. Whispers of a fae-killing monster begin to circulate the Moon Court. It lurks in the woods, feeding off the mana of its victims. Those that go missing and find themselves at the mercy of the beast are never seen or heard from again. Fear quickly takes hold of the fae court; it's only a matter of time before their whole world is destroyed by this creature. However, it offers Vera a glimmer of hope. When she learns of it, she ventures into the wood to kill the beast, believing that she will be able to absorb the magic it has stolen. But the woods are as dangerous as the beast, and Vera soon finds herself lost. In a stroke of luck, she comes across an old manor deep in the forest where a strange boy is sealed away. If Vera wishes to slay the beast, she will first have to uncover the secret of the manor and its prisoner before it's too late. 𝐀 𝐟𝐚𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐜. 𝐀 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚 𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐥𝐲 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐭. "Last night, I had a dream the world ended. Half the population disappeared, and unfathomable eldritch beasts shambled out of an unending darkness." In a world with no sun and bloodthirsty creatures roaming the all consuming dark, the only places still safe are the small compounds that managed to get walls up before all came crashing down. Now, life is simple. Stay inside the walls, and you'll stay alive. It's not relatively easy anymore, though. With no one for company but each other, danger lurking only a few yards away from their homes, and half of their loved ones swept away in a mysterious event known only as 'The Vanishing', the morale of the populous is at an all time low. It's only getting worse for some, as their cities that are supposed to be providing for them are failing to do so. Survivors Wesly and Valentine aren't content with this, however, especially since Val's mother desperately needs life-saving medicine that the city just won't send. With no other options, the two journey outside the wall to study the monsters beyond, selling the information they find to the city in exchange for their support. While dangerous, they manage the task fine until one journey out they stumble across a disturbing, gruesome revelation that reveals not only more about the city, but the end of the world as a whole. As the duo begin to pull on the thread and tangle themselves slowly into its snare, they begin to realize there's a lot more to this apocalypse than they ever could have imagined, and that the horrific beasts they've been studying might be the least of their concerns...

TW: SELF-HARM This is a BXBXBXB story. Don't like, don't read. "Be careful, Fayez, not to touch anything or anyone. Keep your gloves on at all times, my sweet prince, or who knows what might happen". Fayez is the last-born child of one of the strongest family of vampires that ever existed. According to most, he should have led an easy life, for money was never a problem and he had many servants more than willing to fulfill his wishes. Fayez had everything to be happy, except for the fact that he was a burden to his own parents. See, there was something terribly wrong with his hands: everything he touched became rotten, so he had to keep his gloves on at all times. He was a leathal weapon, one that had to be kept a secret, so that other people wouldn't try to use his curse for their own benefit. When Fayez turned 21, his parents decided that their son could not be kept secluded in their castle any longer, and that it was more than time for him to face the outside world. They sent him to the prestigious ISB - Institute for Supernatural Beings, where every supernatural creature from age 20 to age 30 is given a special training to enhance his natural capabilities. How will the priviledged Fayez, who only ever knew the faces of his family and servants, survive in a place where most of the residents have experienced violence and cruelty from a very young age, and are street smart? More importantly, can this haughty, strong yet inexperienced, touch-depraved young man learn how to love and be loved in return, or is he far too gone already?
