Lorelei June Willson, a 17-year-old with a passion for photography, is not expecting much when she moves to Wainiha, a tiny town on the coast of Hawaii. Growing up moving from city to city, Lorelei is completely out of her comfort zone.
That's when she meets Ethan, the scrawny, extremely sarcastic surfer that happens to live next door. He pulls her into a life of beach parties, cliff jumping, and, of course, surfing. His friends easily accept her, and she is rapidly consumed by the small town life.
