An creative writing piece that I created in class. I was given the lines 'Another cruiser pulled up, and two more police officers got out.', 'I glanced down the dinner table and across the room. By now I knew most of the faces. And a motley crew they were, I reflected.', 'I take a sip of the tart, dry liquid and secretly think it could be improved by a few spoonfuls of honey.' And 'Going home is such a mixed experience.'
From this stimulus I worked with a group to create this creative writing piece about an family reunion.

Found Family
It wasn't a question but I answered anyway "Of course. They are family." "What if they don't feel the same way?" "Then that's understandable. They had their trust broken at a very early age by the people who were supposed to protect and love them. I have been very open with them and have told them several times that they are family to me now. I have also said that if they don't feel the same then that's okay. Either way it's my job to protect and love them" This story embodies the trope of Found Family. I originally wrote it as a comfort story for myself, but figured someone else might also need the same comfort I get from it.Complete

Older Brothers
Drama. Drama. Drama. That pretty much describes my life. I mean when your living with your 7 older brothers, 5 cousins, best friends, and a 3 month old baby, life can't get any better! And then there's school. Well school is school. Loaded with a the different 'groups' of kids. The geeks, popular, etc. And last but not least, my parents. We don't even know where they are most the time since they go on business trips after business trips. They come for for a week at the most and leave again. My family is not rich, but not poor.
