In this society, the autism rate is in one in every four children. With no cure in sight and no one willing to support the increasing rate of autism and accept it, the government creates a program known as Spectrum to kill all known autistics if they can't be seen as a cure.
Mariah Jean has been lucky and has hidden from Spectrum for seven years now. However, when new testing is formed, she is Spectrum's newest patient. Nothing is as it seems when fate brings Mariah to be a cure possibility, and the world she knew is shaken forever.

A blank doll with acting and action running in her veins, Freia woke up in a hospital with no memory of what brought her there. Sure, the doctors said a car crash delivered her there, but it didn't feel like it. They said her family's dead but how come Freia didn't feel like that was true? Her very first visitors were her adoptive parents, Fabio and Darlene Hunter. She had four friends that stuck with her ever since she could remember, literally. That is until one who was dear to her was killed, in front of her. Of course, she was devastated. Why would that be a question? One day, Fabio decided to put her into his school filled with students that he specifically chose to be in. When she was finally forced to be in it, she found out things she thought that only existed in books. Powers unknown to the modern world, sheltered children who only knows the world through TV and non-interactive computers. All of the information comes in that school, but never comes out. Wary but hopeful, Xandri joins the Carpathia at Psittaca, a newly-discovered planet peopled by parrot-like sapients.
