	"Lila, we are so sorry for your loss," another sullen, nameless relative consoles me, "Your mother was such a wonderful person." 
	"It"s really a shame," they say. "I can't imagine how you're feeling," the young ones whisper. 
	Questions-question- Hundreds of fucking questions. They all boil down to a single word: Why? 
	Why did she do it? Why did she want this? Why would she leave us? Why? 
	I couldn't answer. They'll never understand; not like I do. She pulled away, cut herself off from all of them. She protected them for years, the way she could never protect me...
