Maliek's statement was loud but it was the authority in his voice that made everyone back off. He placed his head on the girls chest to see if she was still breathing, feeling slight, unsteady movement, he decided to give her CPR, as his lips hovered above hers, the curly head coughed and water spewed from her mouth onto his face. He sat up shocked, blinking  while staring at the girl who was still launching spurts of water from her mouth. When her eyes began to open, he stood up, turned and walked away but not without  taking  one last look at the curly haired girl, that would change his life forever.
