My Fated Mate

Tessa Howell turned 18 a week into her senior semester. She was depressed because her ex boyfriend, Luke, had found his mate on his birthday back in July. He had been her best friend since childhood and they had given themselves to one another certain that they were fated mates. Luke, like many of Tessa's friends, were a year ahead of her in school. Her parents held her back a year because the public school system said her birthday was right at the cut-off point and felt she would thrive as the oldest in her class. She resented her parents for taking orders from a human principal. The school was a mix of werewolves and humans so while the humans had their fun sweet-16 parties and Quincenara's, werewolf teenagers threw a large party in the woods or went to the local shape-shifters club to celebrate and hopefully find their mate.

Tessa's friends had paired off and as the pool of unmated male wolves she knew in her pack dwindled, her heart sank. Since Luke found his mate Lily, Tessa's wolf Lovett has been silent.

Lucian Knight came home after college to work for the pack. His parents found him when his pack was hunted down by a rogue army, known as the Silencers. His adoptive father was Beta of the Sentinel Pack. His father had groomed him to take over the duties of being a Beta when the Alpha ordered for his father to work with his younger son, Grant. Grant was a miracle child for the Beta couple and although he was almost a decade younger than Lucian, Alpha's orders were not to be questioned.

He takes a job at the local high school. But his mate was also his student.
