Hutton always tried to believe that Shell Knight was a freak--ever since an incident that led to some of his friends being arrested. But somehow, he still can't fathom why he's so infatuated with her. Even if his peers believe her to be strange, he always saw her as perfect. Michelle "Shell" Knight is tired of trying to stay put. She wants to go anywhere but stay in the small town she adores and hates at the same time. But Hutton eventually opens her eyes to something else entirely. Now there's a reason for her to stay. When a bustling night brings them together, Shell seems to think it's a waist of time, but Hutton thinks it's the beginning of something great. From then on, their lives are changed when the touch of a hand brings them closer, and the world goes against them.
