Cassandra Pierce led an ordinary life until she encountered an injured Loki in Central Park. A year passes before she sees him again after surviving a bombing at the auction house she works at.  Loki is a prisoner of SHIELD. The organization interrogates her about the bombing and the magical staff that allowed her to survive. 

A new threat has appeared. Unfolding events will reveal secrets from Cassandra's past that could very well shatter her. With the help of a certain trickster god who has been assigned to her as a bodyguard, will Cassandra face the truth and put a stop to the looming evil or fall into the darkness?
