"Oh yeah?" he teases.

I nod, "You can fall in love in a minute. You can break a heart. Change a life. A split second can mean the difference between life and death...A minute is an infinite amount of time when it comes to the fragility of us."

It really is. The minute I agreed to do this I changed my life. The minute I showed up here I changed their lives. And in the minute that I leave, I'm going to blow it all up behind me...

What the fuck am I doing here?

What am I doing with him when it's all only temporary?

"Okay," he smiles, completely oblivious to the reality I create around him, "I'll give you a minute."

In the same breath, I turn to look back out to the view, wishing this train could leave my old life behind the way it does these tracks.

I wouldn't have to worry then. It's all gone so quickly you wouldn't even remember they were there.

I wonder if I stepped off the top of this train and hoped for the best...would it all work out, or would I get caught in the mess below?
