Louisa Greengrass loses her sister, Margaret, to blood malediction; a curse that has been thrown upon the family. Louisa finds herself being swallowed into a dark, depressive hole where it's difficult to get up. The sun in her life is gone. Soon the whole school knows about the crisis that has been happening over the summer, and Louisa seems to be all everyone talks about.
Tom Riddle is beginning his sixth year at Hogwarts. A year he's planning on using to gain followers and work on his future plans. He has always known about Louisa; a fellow, smart Slytherin girl. Tom sees her depressive state as a way to befriend her, he can relate to her feeling nothing.
