When a friend mysteriously vanishes, four girls think their secrets will be safe for the rest of their lives. However, once they start receiving threatening texts, the truth could be only one text away. Set a year after Alison, their group's manipulative and vindictive queen bee, goes missing, the storey centres on four 16-year-old girls - Aria, Spencer, Hanna, and Emily - who have lost touch with one another before they begin to receive cryptic texts from "A," implying that Alison is starting them. The friends are reunited unexpectedly, linked by their previous connection and the panic and uncertainty caused by the cryptic letters, despite the fact that each liar has their own secrets and tactics that they don't want anybody else to discover. When each liar receives a text referencing their most private information in the story's opener, life in their idyllic suburban neighbourhood takes a turn for the worse as mysteries, lies, and betrayals challenge everything they hold dear.

This is my own version of the books/show and obviously credits to Sara Shepard and Marlene King. I would probably watch the show or read the books first because they are properly made and better written
