Twilight fell. Day bled into night. Shadows lengthened and stretched towards the light. Dusk had fallen. 

In the beginning there were eight courts. Spring, summer, fall, and winter. Day, night, dawn, and dusk. Now there are only seven, the eighth scattered across Pyrithian. 

Aoife is the last of her people, the only surviving daughter of the Dusk Court. Plagued by her past, she is able to hide her identity in the Day Court. 

But when a threat from across the sea resurfaces, Aoife is thrown back into the politics, war, and death she so desperately avoided for the past four thousand years. Throw in a few curses and a shadowsinger and Aoife's world is again turned upside down.

Because no matter how far you run, no matter how long you hide, the past always catches up to you.


Trigger warning: this fic gets dark. Subjects include childhood trauma, PTSD, abuse, self harm, and mentions of sexual assault. I will post trigger warnings at the start of appropriate chapters.
