He didn't expect a woman to cough up a glob of blood on his doorstep and promptly collapse.

Phil is a well-respected prosecutor just getting back into work. Technoblade is a feared and successful defense attorney with questionable clients and is rumored to be a bit... unstable. Wilbur is a musician turned politician with big plans for a better world. Tommy is a junior detective who probably causes more crimes than he solves and whose best friend can possibly sense ghosts. Life was good, too good to last, apparently. A horrific murder shatters their perfect world and it's up to them to avenge their fallen family member and send his killer to jail, but this is so much bigger than any of them first realize. - Basically, a bunch of family dynamics but also someone is gonna die, and everyone else reacts appropriately.
