Cassandra Clare Bryxon woke up one day in an unfamiliar place. Sobrang sakit ng kanyang ulo at hindi alam kung anong nangyari. She streched her arms widely and leaned on the headboard. Nang mapagtanto niyang nasa hindi pamilyar na kuwarto ay nagulat siya. "N-Nasan a-ako?"Inilibot niya ang kanyang tingin sa buong paligid.
Halatang-halata na isang lalake ang nagmamay-ari ng silid, dahil sa mga gamit na kanyang nakikita at pati narin sa amoy ng paligid na matapang. Her jaw suddenly dropped dahil sakanyang naisip, "Did I get drunk?" Pero dali-dali naman siyang napailing-iling. "No, it's impossible. Hindi naman ako nag-iinom," sabi niya sakanyang isipan. "Pero 'pano nga ba ako napunta rito?" dahil sa katanungang iyon ay bigla niyang pinikit ang kanyang mga mata at inalala ang lahat. At first, she failed, but she continued. She keeps trying until finally, she now remembers it.
Lunch time na nila 'non at papunta na sana sa cafeteria nang siya'y mahimatay. Nasa eskwelahan siya nang mangyari iyon, pero nang mangyari iyon wala siyang naramdaman na kahit anong sakit. Bigla nalang itong natumba, nawalan siya ng lakas. She could even hear the voices of her friends calling for help.
She's now getting more confused. Diba dapat nasa hospital o 'di kaya nasa clinic siya ng mga oras na ito ngayon? Pero ba't nandidito siya sa iisang kuwarto na ewan?
Napahinto siya sa pag iisip-isip nang biglang bumukas ang pinto ng kuwarto at niluwa nito ang isang lalake na may suot na maskara na kulay itim. Hindi alam sa sarili pero siya'y nakaramdam ng takot. Sobrang takot ni hindi na niya magawang maigalaw ang sarili o 'di kaya'y magsalita.
May bitbit itong isang tray na pagkain. Umupo ito sa gilid ng kama at nagsalita, "Good morning, My lady."
