Shataya has had it hard all her life and everyday, something unexpected gets thrown in her face. She guides you through the tough life which she is leading herself in. You notice how strong Shataya is, especially without her mother there, she ends up losing her strength and everything becomes more than she thought it would be. Now that she's met the 'love of her life' will anything be better than usual?

A man with a seriously messed up life and a load of mental problems made a lot of mistakes in his life but one stands above the rest. The story is about one man with a broken mind doing everything he can to try and make up for the wrong he did and find the woman he loves. This story is very intense and isn't for light reading. I think of the story like this: This isn't the story of a hero slaying a dragon and rescuing the princess. Nor is this a story about a hero who triumphs over evil and rescues the maiden in peril. This is the story of a man, who fights as much with himself, as he does the world around him. He is no hero, he is simply a man, trying to make the best he can of himself, and fix what he broke. He is both the protagonist, and antagonist of this story, because he does as much harm to himself as he does good.

I know, pretty morbid thoughts for a seventeen year old to have, but when your life is all around "perfect" what can you expect? Not everything goes right... ~~SD~~ Shailene O'Laughlin faced a life altering tragedy, one that cost her her life and her identity. She's transported to The Barracks and forced to be made part of a war and a world that she doesn't understand. To make matters worse, it's a world that she has no place in. Something about her soul is different, and nobody knows why.  No one wants to find out why more than her, but will love, mischief, and a power struggle get in her way?
