Nothing burns like the cold. * * Aeson Breevort is the next in line to the throne. But he doesn't have to be. He can choose to not be a King. Because his Father said he has a choice. Why would anyone want someone as cold as he is to be a King? Someone who can read the emotions of everyone around him could get too much to bear. But choosing to be King is what would protect his sister, Kalama. For she is lost in her own reckless powers and he is not sure how to get her back from that. No one does, including his parents. They have never seen such powers like theirs. And somehow, in the cold of winter, he chooses to lose control. He wants to escape the pain, the feelings of everyone. His own, too. Because she hates him for what he did and he doesn't know how he can make up for it.
