Avani Cley knows how to survive - she's been doing it for the past ten years. On the run from an unknown enemy, Avani has been hiding in a forest, creating a home for herself among the leaves and animals, ensuring her secret stays safe.
When her safe haven is destroyed, Avani myst flee. Armed with only her secret and her less-than-ideal social skills, she scours Ardemor in search of answers about the enemy who destroyed her home. But finding those answers becomes difficult, Avani discovers, when you can't touch the ground.
