Druun prowling about at every turn.
How did this world get so broken?
Well, that all began 500 years ago.
. . . . . . . . . . . .
Kumandra.
When our land was whole, and we lived harmoniously alongside...
Dragons.
Magical creatures who brought us water, and rain, and peace.
It was paradise.
But then, the Druun came.
A mindless plague that spread like wildfire, multiplying as they consumed life and turned everyone they touched into stone.
The dragons fought for us the best they could...
But it wasn't enough.
That's when the Mighty Sisudatu, the last dragon, concentrated all her magic into a gem, and...
...blasted the Druun away.
Everyone that was turned to stone came back.
Except...
The dragons.
All that was left of Sisu was her gem. It should have been this big inspirational moment, where humanity united over her sacrifice.
But instead, people, being people...
They all fought to possess the last remnant of dragon magic.
Borders were drawn, Kumandra divided.
We all became enemies, and the gem had to be hidden.
But, that's not how the world broke.
That didn't truly happen until 500 years later, when I came into the story...

In a small village, half hidden along a mountainside, Kieren was slinking between shadows. Footsteps sure even with so little moonlight. The softest brush of bare skin against knobbled and far-reaching trees. Not even a whisper of sound from stepping on the coarse dirt beneath his feet. In this world, Drakes were the epitome of power amongst the species. Only making up 10% of the population, humans making up the other 90%. Drakes could be found in the highest positions of power in communities or in positions to protect others (such as guards, watchmen, knights, patrolman). No one questioned this, dragons taking care of their own. A private species with traditions and rules that only dragons were privy to. Making sure none over-reached so that there would always be peace and harmony amongst the dragon territories and between humans. A symbiosis that all worked hard to maintain. Humans were born with vibrant and colorful hair throughout the world. The more rare the color, the more blessings, respect, luck and riches came to them. Fiery red, leafy green, aqua blue. Eyes that matched their brightest feature. Dressing in the same colors or even brighter shades to demonstrate their extravagance, their standing in society. They normally worked side by side with the higher ranking dragons, helping to keep harmony. All Kieren knew was that he would have to remain cloaked, face obscured at all times. The villagers said he was a defect, so they made him their servant. His skin too pale. Form too slight. Eyes not right. An ugly thing where he should be thankful they did not kill him right away. To be grateful for their pity and staying their hand. The worst, they would tell him, was about the coloring of his features; his hair and eyes. It was a color that had never been seen before amongst humans or dragons. *Please read tags! Don't like, don't read, don't leave unhelpful nasty comments.

Once upon a time, Xadia was a unified land, filled with wonder and magic. At the dawn of time, there were six primary sources of magic, the sun, moon, stars, earth, sky and ocean. But a thousand years ago, a magician from a human tribe discovered a new power, the seventh source, black magic. It uses the essence of all magical creatures to awaken the forces of evil. With their help, they managed to drive the humans westward. Then the continent was divided into two parts, Xadia or the eastern magical land and the western kingdoms of humans. For centuries the border was guarded by the dragon king himself. the people called him Thunder, because his voice made the earth and sky tremble. But before the day of the last coming of winter, people exterminated Grom, and then without a shadow of mercy destroyed his only egg, his successor, the dragon prince. The Realm is now known as Alanari over 10,000 years after the stone worriers, and the dragons rising to power, of the order of the flaming dragon where just stories to tell the youngsters to frighten them into behaving. the year is 24/09/101725cycle's since the gods first spoke to humans. And the order was wiped out reveling the land below the ice. It's been 1200 years since, then there was been a Power struggle between the undead factions and the mountain men of the south. a secret tribal United Front called the Tribe of the Un-ith-Ka the first attempt at uniting all tribes on the plain under one banner. attempts on the life of the king and his offspring has increased since the Mountain Men and the Undead army spread their Rule over all of Un-ith-Ka they are ransacking and pillaging all across the land. nobody knows where the plains of manna stream from. but over the last 100,000 years there has been some development in understanding magic, and they have incorporated it into everything, but only those with the sensitivity to Magic and the intelligence of logical more scientific way. they are called the Sci_magi they believe in a ordered Universe where the wielders of magic contribute to the entire civilization. science and magic mixed together as one. as the line between this plain Un-ith-Ka and the plains of Magic have grown thin and beings known as Demons have flooded through at some places where the veil between worlds has thinned out. the first demon's where powerful.

It was just a normal day for Dawn like every other day she went to school and came home. This time it's different she won't be going home, instead she will end up in a cave with a Dragon. The Dragon gives her two choices to be executed in front of the whole tribe or to stay. She wants to leave but she knows the consequences of escaping but instead of escaping she stays. -------------------------- No one in the small town of Diamond knew what happened, they thought she ran away or worse they thought she died some tragic death, now one of them knows what happened but who?. -------------------------- "We need to find her and fast!". "But, Mayra a dragon took her it couldn't have gotten that far right?". A voice asked her, cowering In the darkness of her stone house. "Of course It will go far its a Dragon!, But at least we know which direction it went, Right?". Mayra asked the voice. "Y-Yes it went Northwest!, But how will we find her?". The voice asked again. "We ask it or them what happened". Mayra said, her gem necklace rested firmly on her neck. "But how do we do that?". The voice questioned while still in the darkness of her house. "Well I found something in my daughters room that might help me". She held up a leather book with small gems like ruby, sapphire and emerald imbedded into it. The title read: Dawns guide to speaking Dragon. Mayra opened the book and a bunch of symbols and markings were written on the pages and on the first page was a translator of Dragon into English. It's a little story "about a young, dumb sankta who's been dealt a bad hand at life, looking for his place in all this mess. The pointless search for a better future leads him far, far away from home, to a country forever ravaged by war and misery - Kazdel, the promised land where devils roam free and peace feels out of place." The war that started it all. Five hundred years ago a war erupted in Elementa when humans started hunting a revered race called the Drekablóð; half humanoid, half dragon. The humans saw them as abominations for their differences; fear of a race more powerful than another makes others do rash and deadly things. After the humans slaughtered a whole settlement of Drekablóð, the magical creatures of Elementa rose up in defense of the Drekablóð. The humans likewise called on their dwarf and elf allies. Thus Bellum ex Quod Draco ipsos Troiugenas began. For ten long, bloody years the races fought hard for the future of the Drekablóð. One wanting to exterminate them like pest. The other wanting them to survive and flourish. In the end, the humans won, but their victory cost them and the rest of Elementa dearly. The alicorns and dwarves disappeared. The wyverns and elves were practically extinct. Dragons were a rare sight. Only the humans survived to tell the tale of how they wiped out the evil monsters that tried to take their lands. Elementa, originally a lush and beautiful land, was now split into four different climates, equally harsh in their own way. But the humans prevailed in cultivating Elementa and chasing away any remaining magical creatures into her far corners. With the resistance of magical creatures no longer in their way, the humans continued their 'sport' of hunting the Drekablóð into extinction. Half a millennium later, the seeress Carmentha foresaw the return of the Drekablóð, and restoring Elementa to her prime and defeating the wicked and harsh rulership of Elementa. These four children have been destined to save Elementa before they were ever born. Can they overcome their difficulties and save Elementa? Or will they fail and allow Elementa to fall into darkness forever? There will be some minimum swearing and minimum acts of violence. I would rate this book for 14 and up.Complete
