Betty and Veronica end up married in New York, when they receive a call from Pop Tate's granddaughter Tabitha, Pop Tate is retiring. Betty and Veronica are invited to the retirement party which is to be held at Pop's which means they have to return home. This experience ends up bringing back a lot of personal trauma and experiences for both of them and of course they get to play detective.
