I would have told you this story in English,
But I want everyone to read and learn,
So let me come down to pigin,
Because I want to talk about it in Nigeria.

Corruption, this is a topic of interest,
A topic that's disheartening,
A topic that makes us silent,
Even with our ink we're threatened.

Oh! corruption, wetin Nigeria do you?
Corruption where Nigeria offend you?
Abeg corruption, we don taya,
Corruption we no wan do again.

Every common man don cry,
We don cry taya because na we en dey affect,
Corruption we don beg you taya,
Just leave us go where you from come.

But how corruption wan go?
when people for power dey in love with am,
How corruption wan go?
When some for power don marry am.

Chai! even divorce no fit work,
Because when corruption come en don come,
Corruption dey always come with greed,
So long throat no dey allow them rest.

Everything them know na power,
Money money everytime,
Just them and their political parties,
Wetin we do as we get PVC?

Even PVC no fit give us authority,
Authority to choose who we want,
We no fit even choose dignity and integrity,
Because all of them na thieves.

All na thieves with different patterns,
Different political parties,
Different areas them dy thief,
And different people to thief from.

How you go say make I no collect money to vote?
How you go say make I vote for free?
How you go say make I no support my own?
Remember say this life na turn by turn.

Now my turn don reach I go do anything,
Even if na my body I go give,
If na money I must put,
Everything possible I go do.

I dy sound so desperate but no be so,
Sir abeg just compromise for me,
Do anything you fit do for me,
Anything possible sir, no matter what.

All this things na en we dy do too,
And we go still blame the politicians,
Everybody for power na our problem na so we talk,
But no, we follow for our problems.
